Indy died in her sleep on October 3, 2011. She had been struggling with kidney failure for more than a year; medication and diet were keeping her reasonably well and she was alert and happy until the end.
We got Indy from Mulberry Farm, then a breeder of small cocker spaniels, in June, 1999. She was 7 months old then, and already showing her independence - she ran all around the breeder's grounds leading everyone on a merry chase before we could take her home. Indy and Prancer, who we got at the same time, were inseparable. Where Prancer is laid back, Indy was perky and mischievous.She almost seemed to laugh every time she looked at you.
